Photography and cinematography both provide over a hundred years of insight on how to capture impactful moments. It would be a shame to disregard such knowledge when creating a game. Especially if you are an indie developer on a shoestring budget, you cannot ignore the opportunity to radically improve how your game looks and feels by just knowing and consciously applying some basic rules without needing to produce extra assets or changing your workflow. And these rules are not limited to cutscenes or dialogues, you can use them in action games or procedurally generated worlds as well.
